Polish Design Graduates 3D Print Eco-Friendly Shoe 3D Printing Processes

For their graduation project at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland, design students Zuzanna Gronowicz and Barbara Motylinska, visualised their concept for a customisable 3D printed shoe. They’re made from eco-friendly materials and can be ordered using an app. The two young designers used a ZMorph 2.0 SX multitool 3D printer to create prototypes and plan the entire production pipeline.

Avi Reichental Joins Board of Directors at Nano Dimension AM Industry

Avi Reichental, a very well known executive figure in the 3D printing industry will be joining the Board of Directors at Nano Dimension, the NASDAQ listed current technological leader in 3D printed electronics. Reichental served as president, chief executive officer and director at 3D Systems for more than a decade. Under his leadership, 3D Systems emerged as a formidable global 3D-printing provider, growing revenue by more than six-fold and increasing market valuation by more than twelve-fold, before running into rough times – as most other publicly traded 3D printing companies – toward the end of his tenure.

IACMI partners with Local Motors on jobs and composite materials AM Industry

The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation, IACMI, a national institute led by The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), announces a new project to develop materials including reinforcements with advanced composites using large-scale additive manufacturing. Committed to increasing domestic production capacity and manufacturing jobs across the U.S. composites industry, IACMI’s integration of large-scale additive manufacturing and composite materials for vehicle applications will challenge existing designs and define new components to meet longevity and crash performance requirements.
