Syqe Medical Takes Over Medicinal Marijuana Market with 3D Printed Inhaler Medical

Israel’s medicinal marijuana business is booming. Incidentally, Israel is also home to some of the most advanced 3D printing technologies around. One startup, Syqe Medical leveraged both these evolving market segments to bring its unique Syqe medicinal plant 3D printed inhaler to market. A partnership signed in late 2015 with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries provides distribution, while the use of innovative 3D printers, such as Nano Dimension‘s Dragonfly, helps with the development process for this innovative – and stylish – product.

3D Brooklyn to Debut 3D Printed Eyeglass Factory at Formlabs Roadshow in NYC Consumer Products

NYC based 3D printing service 3D Brooklyn has been working on a local manufacturing solution for the everyday New Yorker: Glasses! This Eyeglass Factory project is looking to deliver customized 3D printed glasses with lenses and additional accessories made possible with new manufacturing technologies like the Formlabs Form 2 3D printer. Customers can become part of the prototyping process and let 3D Brooklyn know what they would like to see created. They will be offering one of the designs as an open source download available through OnShape so anyone can create their own custom eyeglasses.

3D Printing Studios today announces the appointment of Professor Dr. Chua Chee Kai, to the board of the company as a Non-Executive Director effective from 1 October 2017. Professor Dr. Chua is a world renowned leading expert in the field of various Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques and is widely sought after and cited for his experience and knowledge in both research and industry in the area of 3D printing. With over 25 years to his credit, Professor Dr. Chua was awarded the “Academic Career Award” for his many contributions to AM or 3D Printing at the 6th International Conference on Advanced Research in Virtual and Rapid Prototyping (VRAP 2013) at Leiria, Portugal.

When I visit 3D printing events in China what seems very clear to me is that Chinese adopters use 3D printing a lot. They generally don’t ask all the questions that Europeans and Americans ask and they don’t spent too much time thinking about the issues and the limitations of the technology: they just use it. Hangzhou based 3D printing service FF3DM used it to 3D print a fleet of huge model ships.
