Concept Laser Breaks Ground on Groundbreaking New 3D Campus Facility AM Industry

With today’s groundbreaking, GE and Concept Laser are laying the foundation for a new facility in Lichtenfels, Germany. In the future, the 3D Campus will unite research and development along with production, service, and logistics. The new offices should be ready for move-in early 2019, and around 40,000 square meters will provide room for about 500 employees. The future machine production capacity will be four times higher than today. This will make Concept Laser’s Lichtenfels facility a global GE center for the production of 3D metal printing machines. About 105 million euros will be invested into the location.

PERFECT-3D of Renaissance Services Utilizes Prodways L5000 for Printing 3D Printer Hardware

Renaissances Services, Inc. of Fairborn has established a division that specializes in 3D printing and relies on Prodways Technologies’ ProMaker L5000 3D printer. The new group, known as the PERFECT-3D Division, performs a variety of 3D printing, using a range of materials, but specializes in printing of ceramic components, primarily for the investment casting industry.

The winner of the first prize will receive the first desktop SLS 3D printer – Sinterit Lisa, which is the most affordable and efficient SLS 3D printer currently on the market.

Stratasys and Philips Work to Advance 3D Printed Medical Models Medical

Stratasys is further advancing the impact and use of 3D printing in medical modeling by signing an agreement with Philips. The agreement includes virtually seamless interfacing and dedicated workflows across Philips IntelliSpace Portal 10 and Stratasys Direct Manufacturing’s parts-on-demand service – allowing a broader range of medical professionals to improve training, research and surgical planning through 3D printing.
