HP Inc. has expanded its reach further into the North American market with the commercial availability of its Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions in Mexico. As part of the expansion, the Palo Alto 3D printer company has announced that digital manufacturing service provider Bojä3D has officially become its first Mexican customer.
As additive manufacturing technologies continue to evolve here on Earth, they are also moving steadily ahead in outer space, due in large part to American company Made In Space. The company, which in 2016 sent the first 3D printer into space to be used aboard the International Space Station (ISS), has now won a contract from NASA to continue developing VULCAN, its next-generation metal space manufacturing system.
Canadian biotechnology company Aspect Biosystems has received a $1 million investment from Genome BC, a Vancouver-based non-profit dedicated to genomics innovation. The funding will go towards advancing and further commercializing Aspect Biosystems’ 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering platform.
Norsk Titanium AS, a Norway-based company specializing in additively manufactured structural titanium parts for the aerospace industry, has announced the appointment of a new President and CEO: Michael J. Canario. Currently the President of Aerospace, Americas & Corporate Business Development for advanced composites company Hexcel, Canario will officially start his new role as President and CEO of Norsk Titanium in June 2018.
Stratasys, a global leader in additive technology solutions, sponsored and took part in a 72-hour “Makers for Heroes Make-a-Thon” event in Tel Aviv. The event sought to develop devices and find solutions for various challenges veterans face as a result of injuries received while in service.
Wohlers Associates is partnering with the Québec Industrial Research Centre (CRIQ) to offer, for the first time in Canada, three days of intensive training on design for additive manufacturing (DfAM). Australian metal AM specialist Titomic Limited has announced a new partnership with Callaway Golf Company, a U.S.-based golf equipment company and the world’s largest manufacturer of golf clubs. Together, the companies have signed a 12-month agreement through which Titomic will provide its additive manufacturing expertise for the production of “novel” golf products for Callaway.
