The car, a suped-up old pick-up truck, is equipped with what is easily one of the most cutting edge intake manifolds on the road today. As you might have guessed, it’s 3D printed.
Danish shoe designer ECCO, along with global silicone leader Dow and CAD leader Dassault Systèmes, is introducing the QUANT-U footwear customization project. The presentation coincides with ECCO Shoes’ Spring-Summer preview press events in Tokyo, Japan.

TRIDITIVE, a Spain-based 3D printing company and services provider for final parts, announced a strategic collaboration with Elnik Systems, a manufacturer of first and second stage metal injection molding (MIM) equipment. The agreement will provide TRIDITIVE with metallurgical assistance as well as turnkey production services in the SCALADD Consortium.
Israeli 3D printing company Nano Dimension Ltd. is flying high into the new year. The company, known for its electronics 3D printing technology, announced that it expects its total revenue for 2018 to be in the vicinity of $5.1 million, nearly six times more than its reported revenue for 2017 ($860,000).
OHB System AG, a leading European space company and a subsidiary of tech group OHB SE, signed a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop a large-format 3D printer destined for the International Space Station (ISS). The 3D printer, to be used with high performance thermoplastics, will be developed through a OHB System-led consortium consisting of German space company Sonaca Space GmbH, Portuguese 3D printing company BEEVERYCREATIVE and Ireland’s Athlone Institute of Technology.

Industrial 3D printing company Essentium, Inc. reported today it has raised $22.2 million through a Series A funding round led by BASF Venture Capital. Other investors that participated in the investment round include Materialise, Genesis Park and other existing seed round investors. The large investment will enable Essentium to scale its manufacturing, engineering, international distribution, sales and marketing operations for its recently launched High Speed Extrusion (HSE) technology.
