Sandvik Coromant launches 3D printed Lightweight CoroMill 390 Industrial Additive Manufacturing

Swedish tooling system specialist Sandvik Coromant has introduced a new metal cutting tool produced using additive manufacturing, the Lightweight CoroMill 390. The new product benefits from a lighter weight than the traditional CoroMill 390, which minimizes vibrations and improves security when machining with long overhangs. The Lightweight CoroMill 390 also unlocks new levels of productivity.

Rotterdam-based design studio The New Raw is no stranger to environmental causes—it’s whole mandate is to raise awareness about eco issues such as plastic waste with innovative design and technologies like 3D printing. Most recently, the group teamed up with the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation in Greece to highlight the specific problem of abandoned fishing nets in marine ecosystems.

Industrial AM lasers to generate $870 million in revenues by 2024 3D Printer Hardware

According to a newly issued report from SmarTech Analysis, the additive manufacturing (AM) industry will utilize almost $350 million worth of industrial lasers by the end of 2019. The bulk of AM lasers related revenues is coming from laser sales for SLA and PBF machines. SmarTech’s report projects that in 2024, AM laser revenues are expected to grow to $870 million in revenues and go on to reach almost $1.2 billion by 2028.
