Carpenter Technology Corporation, which is emerging as a market leading AM metal powder supplier, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a collaboration to produce additively manufactured components for a serial production commercial aircraft.
Norsk Titanium, a supplier of structural, titanium 3D printed parts for the aerospace industry, has revealed details about its new Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) machine. The new 3D printer, the Gen-IVL, is capable of larger and faster 3D printing, enabling the production of even more complex aircraft and engine components.
Canadian additive manufacturing company Burloak Technologies is teaming up with Safran Landing Systems, a leader in aircraft landing and braking technology, to develop 3D printed aircraft landing gear components. CyBe Construction, a Dutch specialist in concrete 3D printing, has been selected as the technology provider for a 3D printed house project in the UAE. The house will be built as part of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) initiative which aims to 3D print a series of buildings in the area with the goal of transforming the city of Sharjah into an architectural hub.
