MakerBot Launches METHOD X to bring real ABS 3D printing to manufacturing 3D Printer Hardware

MakerBot is launching METHOD X, a new manufacturing workstation engineered to challenge traditional manufacturing with real ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) material for durable parts, a 100°C chamber, and Stratasys SR-30 soluble supports. METHOD X can withstand up to 15°C higher temperatures, is up to 26% more rigid, and up to 12% stronger than modified ABS formulations used on desktop 3D printer competitors. MakerBot assures that Precision ABS parts printed on METHOD X have no warping or cracking that typically occurs when printing modified ABS on desktop platforms without heated chambers.

VELO3D receives largest order yet for Sapphire metal 3D printer AM Industry

VELO3D has received its largest order yet for its Sapphire metal 3D printers. According to the company, it is preparing to deliver an additional four Sapphire units to an existing customer in the aerospace industry. Once the recent 3D printer order is completed, the undisclosed client will be operating a total of nine Sapphire systems. The delivery of the systems will reportedly commence immediately and will be completed by the end of the year.

Nanoscribe USA subsidiary opens in Boston 3D Printing Events

Commercial two-photon polymerization (2PP) nano 3D printer manufacturer Nanoscribe is opening a new North American subsidiary in the Boston area. The Nanoscribe USA offices, inaugurating on August 1st, will focus on sales and service activities on the American continent. The German manufacturer of 3D printers for microfabrication sees this step as an important element of its internationalization strategy.

UK’s MTC purchases Nano Dimension LDM electronics 3D printer Electronics

Nano Dimension Ltd. announced today that the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) became the first R&D facility in the United Kingdom to purchase Nano Dimension’s DragonFly LDM precision additive manufacturing system for electronics. MTC will use the cutting-edge Lights-Out Digital Manufacturing System to additively build electronic components, such as multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), antennas and sensors. This sale demonstrates the growing interest among UK and European R&D institutions in the DragonFly LDM technology as a viable means to bring next generation electronic products and solutions to market.
