Prototal Industries, the largest and most specialized manufacturing company for polymer additive manufacturing and injection molding in the Nordics, is expanding its operations into the UK through the acquisition of 3T Additive Manufacturing Polymers, the polymer AM service alter-ego of EOS partner 3T AM, for metal AM services, both part of AM Global Holding.
Covestro is acquiring the Resins & Functional Materials business (RFM) from Royal DSM. The transaction will include all of DSM’s Resins & Functional Materials businesses, including DSM Additive Manufacturing and all sustainable coating resins related businesses.
Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) and BASF 3D Printing Solutions announced that ALM will distribute four new Forward AM powder solutions for BASF. ALM will sell the materials on behalf of BASF. The new distribution agreement allows BASF to expand the reach of its successful products beyond its 3D printing applications in automotive, aerospace and consumer goods .

In the latest deal, Formula 1 has announced a new licensing deal with specialist eyewear company Formuleyes to release an exclusive collection of premium glasses, celebrating the sport’s past, present and future as part of its 70th-anniversary celebrations.
GE has achieved a significant milestone in its mission to deliver a more fuel-efficient aircraft engine: its powerful GE9X engine has received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). With the certification, GE can now begin production of the GE9X engine for commercial service. The engine, which integrates many 3D printed components, is designed for the Boeing 777X. Together, they will reportedly be 20% more fuel efficient than their predecessors.
Alloyed, a UK-based digital metal solutions company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NTT DATA XAM Technologies (XAM), a newly formed Japan-based additive manufacturing company. Together, the companies will seek to establish an AM business venture in Japan.
3DPrinterOS, an end-to-end 3D printer management solution provider, has appointed Michelle Bockman as its new CEO. Bockman, who previously served as HP’s General Manager and Global Head of 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing – Automotive & High-Value Applications, has extensive experience in the additive world and will lead 3DPrinterOS into its next phase of growth to drive enterprise adoption.
