Naples ANM Trolleybuses Implement On-demand 3D Printed Spare Parts

ANM (Azienda Napoletana Mobilità S.p.A.), the traditional Neapolitan public transport company, is collaborating with local AM service provider 3DnA to restore and maintain the mobility of its lines in the city of Naples. The production of needed replacement parts was made possible by re-engineering and 3D printing mechanical components no longer available from their supply chain, where the original technical documentation and drawings could not be recovered.

DDD Focuses on Healthcare after Solid-Organ Scaffolds’ Success

3D Systems significantly expanded its focus on regenerative medicine and bioprinting solutions after reducing its workforce to concentrate on the healthcare AM sector. The expanded focus follows on great progress made in the development of 3D printing systems for solid-organ scaffolds. This progress is the product of collaboration between 3D Systems, United Therapeutics Corporation and UTC’s organ manufacturing and transplantation-focused subsidiary, Lung Biotechnology PBC. 3D Systems intends to leverage this work and accomplishments with other partners to invest, further develop and commercialize solutions for regenerative medicine. Applications of its R&D program include the development of non-solid organ applications requiring biologically sustainable vasculature.

Artemis Generation students design 3D printed Lunar PAD for future Moon missions Aerospace

A team of undergraduate students from 10 colleges and universities across the United States – members of the Artemis Generation designed a reusable landing pad that could be 3D printed from materials found on the Moon. The novel concept – called the Lunar Plume Alleviation Device, or Lunar PAD – focuses on solving the problems caused when the force of an engine’s powerful exhaust meets the dusty lunar surface.

WASP completes its TECLA 3D printed house Construction 3D Printing

The Italian firm World’s Advanced Saving Project (WASP) has completed the printing phase of its TECLA supporting structure, a 3D printed house based on natural materials that is made with multiple 3D printers operating at the same time. The habitat model was engineered by WASP and designed by MC A, Mario Cucinella Architects. It took form as a new circular model of housing entirely created with reusable and recyclable materials, sourced from local soil, carbon-neutral and adaptable to any climate and context.
