Education chiefs in Ireland, where the use of 3D concrete printing is currently limited, are hoping a new training course in 3D concrete printing will help contribute to addressing the need to build more affordable homes, at a quicker pace. The course is the first of its kind in the country and is being run by Louth and Meath Education Training Board (LMETB).

The Boss Products building and construction 3D printing factory is located in Melbourne, and produces products for the industry across the commercial and domestic sectors. It is one of the biggest suppliers of planter boxes and retaining walls.
When 3D bioprinting with organic substances, it is hard to overstate the importance of not damaging the cells. Print heads from Puredyne, a brand of the established dispensing specialist ViscoTec, already prioritize this through demonstrably high-precision and low-shear dispensing, although the printing results are always dependent on the dispensing needle used, of which there are many available on the market, including the ones from Japanese manufacturer, Tecdia.
Stryker, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, has opened its high-tech 3D printing facility at Anngrove, Cork – marked by a visit from Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD, the IDA, and other local guests. The new 156,000-square-foot development creates capacity for 600 high-tech jobs in the future, and will help further Stryker’s leadership in med-tech additive manufacturing. StarHagen, a provider of high-quality production parts for aerospace companies, has joined the Velo3D Contract Manufacturer Network with the purchase of an end-to-end solution from the additive manufacturing technology company. The Sapphire printer acquired by StarHagen is calibrated to print in Inconel 625, a nickel-based superalloy designed for high strength, and to be resistant to high temperatures and corrosion.
Multiphoton Optics GmbH, the global solution provider for 3D lithography via two-photon polymerization (TPP), based in Würzburg, Germany, will become a subsidiary of Heidelberg Instruments Mikrotechnik GmbH, one of the leading international players in the development and production of high-precision photolithography systems and nanofabrication tools, after resources have already been pooled in various business areas since the acquisition at the beginning of 2021.
Prototek Holdings LLC, a leading North American digital manufacturing provider of industrial 3D printing and other manufacturing processes, acquired Prototype Solutions Group (PSG). PSG is a leading provider of quick-turn prototyping in CNC, additive and cast manufacturing located in northern Wisconsin, about one hour east of Minneapolis, MN.
