An Engineer 3D Printed Replica of the 4-Seat Commercial Crew Dragon Capsule

On the evening of November 15 (EST), NASA will head to the International Space Station with astronauts to report on the upcoming launch and launch activities of the agency’s SpaceX Commercial Crew-1 mission (see the video above). Meanwhile, you can sit down and admire the 3D printed copy of the 4-seater Commercial Crew Dragon capsule made by Rolls-Royce engineer An Duong on his Morethan3D portal.

This is the first crew rotation flight of the SpaceX Crew Dragon space shuttle on the Falcon 9 rocket, which is part of the agency’s “Commercial Crew Program”, which is a NASA-certified regular flight to the space station.

The launch is scheduled for November 14 at 7:49 pm Eastern Time from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at the 39A launch site. “Crew by Dragon” is scheduled to dock at the space station at 4:20 am on Sunday, November 15. The launch, pre-launch activities and docking will be broadcast live on NASA TV and the agency’s website.

The Crew-1 flight will take the crew member Longfeng Commander Michael Hopkins, pilot Victor Glover, NASA mission expert Shannon Walker, and Japan Aerospace Administration (JAXA) mission expert Noichi Soichi Noguchi to the space station for a six-month scientific experiment mission.

An Duong’s new celebration copy is called Dragon-MJ, a larger version of the DRAGON-MS model, and it also has many new features that the earlier version did not have. Duong created these models to inspire more children to become astronauts and pursue STEM careers when they grow up.

Like the previous model, you can download the STL file and make it on a 3D printer yourself, or (2) order the 3D printed model directly from Morethan3D. If you choose to order a 3D printed model, you can also decide whether to fully assemble or receive it as a kit (so that you can assemble the model yourself). The price of all printable files is £60 (Warning: DRAGON-MJ is a large model, you need to build a printer with a volume of at least 210x210x200mm to print this model) or as a 3D printing product, the price is £520(shipping not included).
