Winsun shows off massive recent and ongoing construction 3D printing projects 3D Printing Events

During the “Dream Road” Winsun global conference organized by Yingchuang (Winsun) on construction 3D printing technology and procurement – held in the Shanghai Qingpu Yingchuang recycling industrial park – the company presented its latest progress and upcoming projects, including colored architectures and graphene structures.

Big data analysis of new materials for printing construction inks, blockchain management of regeneration and recycling resources, and application of 3D printing construction globalization industrial Internet technology are also part of the company’s ongoing research. This year, Yingchuang, together with the Highway Traffic Environment Research Center of the Highway Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Suzhou Waterway office, Suzhou Ring Expressway, and other units, has implemented 3D printing construction technology in traffic and water conservancy projects.

A number of very high profile figures from both China and international markets where Winsun construction is taking place (including the United States, Australia, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, and the Middle East), participated in the conference through a remote video connection. Representatives from the China UK 3D Printing Graphene Application Research and Development Center were present on location, along with more than 200 domestic and foreign guests.

During the conference, a report was presented on Chinese Premier Li Keqiang speech during the third session of the 13th National People’s Congress, where he stressed the need to strengthen the construction of new infrastructure, develop a new generation of information networks and expand 5G applications.

Last April, the Chinese government had defined the scope of new infrastructure, including innovative infrastructure, which will become one of the new driving forces of social and economic development for China’s transformation. The core of new infrastructure is digitalization. At the conference site, Yingchuang demonstrated the whole process of 3D printing infrastructure. Yingchuang adopts an independently developed cement mixture ink, showing that construction 3D printing technology can reduce the construction complexity, shorten construction times, reduce costs, and also greatly reduce on-site construction personnel while improving the safety of the operation. In addition, it presents a number of advantages, such as customization, low-carbon emissions and energy savings.

As early as 2018, Yingchuang put forward the concept of the green circular industry for 3D printing buildings, by integrating renewable and recyclable practices urban construction, steel manufacturing, coal and chemical industries, energy generation, and sand collection. Winsun claims that the hardness of its printed walls is equivalent to that of traditional concrete C30 walls but much more environmentally friendly.

At the conference, Yingchuang showed four key application scenarios for four different construction 3D printing, and opening the door to colored architectures. The projects include 3D printing ecological shorelines in traditional river restoration; 3D printing of a 70-meter long high-speed highway sound barrier (S58 Shanghai Changzhou expressway); 3D printing of an isolation ward during the COVID-19 emergency and 3D printing of the largest demonstration building in the world, the venue of the conference itself: Yingchuang’s own 4-storey building, covering an area of 3200 square meters.

Ma Yihe, chairman of Yingchuang construction technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., said at the conference that transportation construction, urban community renewal, aesthetically pleasing rural construction, and solid waste recycling will become an important field for the company in the future. “In the near future – he said – 3D printing buildings will be widely used in municipal, water conservancy, road, construction, underground and other engineering projects, to promote green upgrading and transformation of the traditional Chinese manufacturing industry, and use science and technology to empower the industry, manage the environment, improve the ecology and create value.”
