3D Printlife donates PLA filament for 3D printing face shields

American filament firm 3D Printlife has announced it is donating 4,000 kg of PLA to encourage the creation of 3D printed face protects for workers. The quantity of the filament is expected to be sufficient to 3D print over face protects. As part of its attempt, 3D Printlife is seeking maker spaces, fab labs, service agencies, and 3D printing specialists to be combined with its Life Service COVID-19 Support Center.

The business says it has allocated 1,000 pounds of filament into COVID Maker Response, 3D Brooklyn and Voodoo Manufacturing at New York, the city in the USA. These three classes have allegedly contributed to hospitals and health organizations over 6,000 face guards.

“We’re working to donate extra stuff to maker spaces and service agencies in the US that are prepared to publish PPE’s for health care workers on the frontlines of this COVID-19 pandemic,” stated the filament manufacturer. Additionally, 3D Printlife has partnered with 3DPrinterOS to provide discounted prices on their premium permit for any manufacturers part of their 3D Printlife Support community “

3DPrinterOS’s platform eases dispersed manufacturing and empowers printing with print configurations for 3D Printlife’s material. This approach will make it much easier for community partners to 3D print face guards and boost production.

Now, 3D Printlife’s Life Support source is linked to over 2,000 hospitals and healthcare facilities that need or will need PPE and other apparatus. 3D Printlife will give spools of PLA to any members in the 3D printing business which combine its support community to aid in the struggle against COVID-19. 3D Printlife’s filaments are created at its extrusion center.
