About Project

Medical ultrasound (also known as diagnostic sonography or ultrasonography) is a diagnostic imaging technique, or therapeutic application of ultrasound. It is used to create an image of internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, blood vessels, and internal organs. Its aim is often to find a source of a disease or to exclude pathology.

A company who specializes in developing medical devices was soon to publish their new advanced ultrasound system. With unmatched image quality and cutting-edge versatility for the full range of clinical applications, their ultrasound imaging systems target at enhance confidence in diagnoses for improved patient outcomes.

As the prototype only served as a set of exhibition model, we adopted the SLA PP-like resin, which can produce accurate, high-detailed parts and has been designed for easy finishing.

Solution

  • Step 1: Check the model thoroughly, especially all of the moveable joints and snap-fit structures.
  • Step 2: Slice the model and print all the parts separately with SLA PP-like resin for the convenience of coloring.
  • Step 3: Remove the supporting structure, post-cure the parts with UV.
  • Step 4: Polish the parts, color them as required, apply with UV oil, then assemble them all together.
