The Developer’s Kit for the World’s first low cost embedded electronics 3D printer is now shipping. Developed by a Harvard team led by bioprinting technologies expert Prof. Jennifer Lewis, and announced to the world in 2015, the Voxel8 extrusion 3D printer was welcomed by an enthusiastic response to the vision of enabling functional additive manufacturing with advanced materials.
Launched back in 2012, the Cambridge-Massachusetts based startup Onshape has become known across the 3D design industry for being the first to fully immerse CAD software into a cloud system. The company was founded by members of the original SolidWorks team, along with other expert engineers. What makes Onshape unique is its teamwork-driven environment, enabling designers across the world to work in unison using a web browser, phone, or tablet. After commercially releasing Onshape in December 2015, and quickly becoming a game-changer in the CAD industry, the Onshape team has now announced FeatureScript, which will offer their customers the ability to change the way their personal Onshape CAD system operates.
Growing by 10,000 3D printers in just over 9 months, 3D Hubs, the largest global network of 3D printers, has now topped 30,000 registered 3D printing locations. At the opening of Rapid, the unrivaled additive manufacturing event, from May 16 to 19 in Orlando, Florida, Prodways, a subsidiary of Groupe Gorgé, presented its new industrial laser sintering printer, the Prodways P1000 (Pro Maker), and announced the signing of a strategic partnership with the leading chemical company, BASF, for the marketing of their new PA6 laser sintering powder.

Throughout the visit at their Barcelona Labs, gave us an opportunity to see how well HP 3D printing answers a serious grilling by leading industry journalists such as Develop3D’s Martyn Day, Get3DSmart’s John Hauer, as well as Industry Analysts such as Terry Wohlers, Pete Basiliere and Joe Kempton.
