Carbon Powers Next-Gen 3D Printing Software With Cloud-based Computation AM Software

Carbon is introducing a new version of its next-gen 3D printing software that expands its tools to design, engineer and make polymeric parts using Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology and resins. With this software release, Carbon offers a variety of tools that enable customers to print parts easily and successfully the first time, optimize supports for material usage, and minimize post-processing. These new software tools are backed by finite element analysis (FEA), a powerful cloud-based computational technique that simulates the forces of DLS.

Bottom’s Up, More Good News From Formnext 2017 3D Printer Hardware

The AM industry is unique in many ways but one of those ways is how innovation is not just coming from the very top of the pyramid but also from the base. This young industrial segment is still far from consolidating in the hands of just a few major players as most mature industrial segments have for several decades. We are at the dawn of a new industrial revolution, however a revolution of this magnitude takes decades to complete. The best part in the beginning anything new is the galactic chaos formed by a growing number fragments which will eventually disappear or gravitate toward larger stars and galaxies. On this front there were many good news from formnext 2017.

DWS Shows Clarity of Vision with XCELL Integrated Production Unit and Global Strategy 3D Printer Hardware

The 3D printing industry is transitioning toward automated production. While this trend has been evident for the past few years, the latest formnext trade show has made it even clearer, with a huge focus post-production, materials, and part handling units filling the halls to support faster and more productive 3D printers. Few companies have expressed this vision as clearly as DWS, with its new, all-in-one XCELL system.

Russell Finex Introduces Russell AMPro Sieve Station for Controllable Powder Handling 3D Printer Hardware

As a result of the growing need within the AM industry to implement efficient material handling solutions, Russell Finex has applied over 80 years of experience in manufacturing sieving and separation solutions to develop the award-winning Russell AMPro Sieve Station – the first system of its kind – to ensure a key industry need is met: guaranteeing the powder handling process is fully controllable, repeatable and with minimal operator involvement.

3D Printing Helped Stranger Things’ Demogorgon Come to Life (Again and Again) / Video AM Software

3D Printing Helped Stranger Things’ Demogorgon Come to Life (Again and Again) / Video AM Software

In an interesting case study, Formlabs reported on how Aaron Sims, founder and president of Aaron Sims Creative (ASC), an up-and-coming visual effects (VFX) and design studio in Burbank (alongside large, established companies like Weta and ILM) use a Form2 3D printer to bring to life the monster in season one of hit TV series Stranger Things. Apparently he is not the only one 3D printing a demogorgon.. or a demodog.
