Milan has become something of a 3D printing design hub in recent years, largely thanks to the occurrence of prestigious events such as the Salone del Mobile, a furniture expo held every Spring in Italy’s capital of fashion and design. Last year, for instance, the Salone del Mobile’s showstopper was a 3D printed house located in Milan’s central square, Piazza Cesare Beccaria—which 3DPBM founder Davide Sher had the chance to see firsthand.

PostProcess Technologies (PPT) has announced a new partnership with CUBRC, a not-for-profit scientific corporation specializing in machine learning research, development, testing and systems integration. PPT will utilize its new partner’s Heartwood Analytics suite to advance its own software platforms. The goal of the partnership is to improve PPT’s software offering for the automation and digitization of AM post-processing.

GE Additive teams up with Autodesk to streamline metal AM workflow AM Software

As part of its updated software strategy, GE Additive is teaming up Autodesk to streamline the metal 3D printing process through the development of an integrated workflow software for GE Additive systems. The workflow will combine the Autodesk Fusion 360 platform with GE Additive Build Preparation interfaces to connect all stages of the AM process, from design and simulation to printing and machine analytics.
