Ceramics 3D printer firm Lithoz today released its new CeraVision tool and set of features to real-time monitor and control 3D printing process from remote via live-video transmission, giving users an all-new way to interact with their printers. Available for the CeraFab printers’ family, this new tool is also designed to detect and automatically correct errors during printing and to increase the usability of the printers.

While the platform has primarily functioned as a repository for anatomical models, the NIH 3D Print Exchange now also hosts an important collection of 3D printable files for COVID-19 response.
Sigma Labs, Inc. has announced the launch of a new software-based offering, PrintRite3D Production Series. The quality assurance solution introduces new features such as the Production Dashboard, and offers useful information and AI-driven metrics to production managers. A team from the Harvard Semitic Museum has 3D scanned a series of three sarcophagi from Ancient Egypt, which are now viewable through 3D modeling platform SketchFab. The effort is part of a broader project that aims to digitize artifacts from Ancient Egyptian civilizations to be shared online for “study and enjoyment.”

The hybrid manufacturing technology, notable for its ability to build large-scale objects, will be simulated using CGTech’s VERICUT software platform.
3D content platform Sketchfab made an announcement this week which will see high-quality 3D scans and models of cultural artefacts become more accessible through its platform. In short, cultural organizations using Sketchfab now have the ability to dedicate their 3D models to the Public Domain using a Creative Commons Public Domain identifier (CC0). As part of the announcement, Sketchfab has also unveiled collaborations with 27 cultural institutions from across the world, including the Smithsonian Institution.
Materials company Evonik has launched a new software tool for 3D printing that enables manufacturers to easily determine the optimal additive manufacturing process based on a part’s geometry and material, as well as on a financial analysis. The new software function was developed by Israeli startup Castor.
