Stryker to invest €200M in Irish medtech R&D Medical

Stryker today announced that it is to invest over €200 million in Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) projects at three of its five Cork facilities as it continues its vigorous innovation journey to deliver next generation products and services across its Medical Surgical, Orthopaedics and Neurotechnology and Spine offerings. The RD&I projects are supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

EnvisionTEC and EasyRx now offer integrated orthodontic software solution Marketing and Content

EnvisionTEC and EasyRx, a developer of orthodontic prescription software, today announced the integration of their software for ease of use. EasyRx allows users to submit, manage and track orthodontic lab prescriptions, including preparing and labeling them for 3D printing. Now, EasyRx users can simply launch an STL file in EnvisionTEC’s Perfactory software by clicking the EnvisionTEC logo within EasyRx. Users can now go from digital scan to 3D print faster than ever before.

UCLA Bioengineers Use 3D Printing to Create Microfluidics for Medical Microchip Marketing and Content

The bioengineers in Dino Di Carlo’s lab at the University of California, Los Angeles, spend a lot of time wrapped in head-to-toe suits and looking a bit jaundiced. The engineers work in a clean room, where a steady flow of filtered air removes particulates. Blue or purple light would harden the photosensitive material with which they work, so they limit lighting in the room to butter-yellow.
