Global manufacturing services company Jabil has revealed its intentions to establish a new 3D printing center of excellence in the U.S. To create the center, the company is planning to invest around $42 million to expand a healthcare facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A payload containing 3D printed supplies for the 3D BioFabrication Facility (BFF) has arrived on board the International Space Station (ISS) docked 248 miles above the Earth’s surface. The cargo contained samples of human cells, bio-inks, and a set of new 3D printed ceramic fluid manifolds to replace the previously used printed polymers.

The AIC is the capstone of GM’s expertise and increased investment in 3D printing over the last several years.
