Stratasys-owned MakerBot has launched a new software platform, MakerBot CloudPrint, to enable easier 3D printing collaboration with partners across the globe. The software was developed to facilitate remote working and enables users to easily manage and control their 3D print jobs from virtually anywhere.
Materials company Evonik has launched a new software tool for 3D printing that enables manufacturers to easily determine the optimal additive manufacturing process based on a part’s geometry and material, as well as on a financial analysis. The new software function was developed by Israeli startup Castor.

A new 3D_Evolution Simplifier function now automatically generates envelope geometry, especially for all major visualization tools. British AM software company AMFG has added a new Build Preparation tool to its Additive Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The new feature enables AMFG customers to achieve even more using the print management solution by optimizing print builds for end-use applications and further automating build preparation.
Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Atlas 3D, Inc., a Plymouth, Indiana-based developer of software that works with direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) printers to automatically provide design engineers with the optimal print orientation and requisite support structures for additive parts in near real-time. Atlas 3D will join Siemens Digital Industries Software, where its solutions will expand additive manufacturing capabilities in the Xcelerator portfolio of software.
BeAM, a leading machine manufacturer in the field of DED (Directed Energy Deposition) technology for additive manufacturing, and the global technology company Siemens announced at EMO 2019 their plans to further intensify their collaboration. The partnership focuses on Sinumerik One, the new CNC generation from Siemens.

The software, which increases production floor efficiency and agility with smart part prioritization, custom workflow creation and other tools, is being showcased at AMUG this week in Chicago.
