VELO3D has received its largest order yet for its Sapphire metal 3D printers. According to the company, it is preparing to deliver an additional four Sapphire units to an existing customer in the aerospace industry. Once the recent 3D printer order is completed, the undisclosed client will be operating a total of nine Sapphire systems. The delivery of the systems will reportedly commence immediately and will be completed by the end of the year.

A month after Desktop Metal announced it was ready to begin shipping its Studio System to European customers, several of the metal 3D printing systems are already busy turning out metal AM parts at a number of companies across the EU. In the Benelux region, AWL-Techniek, a Dutch mechanical engineering company, was the first company to install the Studio System+.

Last month, Desktop Metal announced it was ready to ship its Studio System across Europe, to customers in France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK. In its latest update, the company revealed its first customers in the UK. The University of Sheffield and global engineering solutions company Weir Group have become the first two UK-based organizations to adopt Desktop Metal’s metal 3D printing platform, the Studio System. Tri-Tech 3D, a platinum reseller partner of Desktop Metal, was responsible for and facilitated both sales.
