France-based 3D printing company Prodways Group is reinforcing its ties to leading materials developers in the additive and industrial chemical sectors. The company announced this week that it has sold multiple selective laser sintering 3D printers to chemical companies BASF and DSM, as well as delivered a ProMaker P1000 system to leading French chemical company, Arkema.
Royal DSM, Chromatic 3D Materials and German RepRap (GRR) have formed a partnership to develop high-performance, flexible solutions for 3D printing using Chromatic’s line of FlexTune polyurethane (PU) materials. Together, the companies will create PU-based 3D printed parts for the automotive, rail and footwear sectors, to name a few.
Global science company Royal DSM has announced a partnership with Origin, a San Francisco-based startup specializing in Open Additive Manufacturing. Through the collaboration, the companies will develop new materials and applications for 3D printing. The first material created through the partnership will be presented at the upcoming RAPID conference in Detroit.
BASF New Business GmbH (BNB) has acquired all the shares of Advanc3D Materials GmbH in Hamburg and Setup Performance SAS in Lyon. Following the acquisition of Dutch filament maker Innofil3D last year, this marks yet another major step forward in BASF’s strategy to occupy the 3D printing materials market, making moves in polymers, ceramics and bioink segments – including being a part of HP’s 3D printing materials developers.
