LOOP 3D, a 3D printer manufacturer with a growing global footprint, has expanded its partner network through a recent cooperation with GS Project Design. The Belgian firm, which provides AM consulting and design services, will be using the LOOP PRO 3D printer as part of its versatile customer offering.
The Lubrizol Corporation has acquired Avid Product Development, LLC, a trusted partner for engineering and additive manufacturing services. Lubrizol acquires Avid to extends its production capabilities in AM and offering the service bureaus’ unique blend of 3D printing capabilities, including design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), prototyping and production using powder bed fusion (MJF, SLS), fused filament fabrication (FFF) and stereolithography (SLA), with expertise in various post-processing technologies.
Italian additive manufacturing services BEAMIT and ZARE have today announced a merger through which they will combine their resources to become a single, powerhouse AM service in Europe. The merging of the two additive manufacturing service providers will result in a single organization made up of over 100 employees with operations at five facilities, all located within a 40 km area between Parma and Reggio Emilia in Italy. The new company also has four commercial offices in France, Germany, the UK and Japan.
Danish 3D printing company Damvig A/S has been acquired by Prototal AB, Sweden’s most prominent supplier of 3D printing services. According to the companies, the acquisition will result in a stronger market position for Prototal within Northern Europe and help to promote the adoption and proliferation of additive manufacturing in the region.
3D printing service provider Shapeways has announced a new collaboration with digital manufacturing company Carbon. As of today, select Shapeways customers will be able to order prints made using Carbon’s innovative Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology. The partnership broadens Shapeways 3D printing services portfolio.
Dutch 3D printing service provider Oceanz has announced the acquisition of Heijcon 3D Solutions, another Netherlands-based AM service bureau. With the acquisition, Ede-based Oceanz aims to strengthen its position in the professional additive manufacturing market.
Burloak Technologies, a Canadian leader in additive manufacturing, has announced its plans to open an Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Oakville, Ontario. The company, acquired last year by Canadian metal manufacturing company Samuel, Son & Co., says the new AM facility will launch in September 2018 and will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2019.
HP Inc. has expanded its reach further into the North American market with the commercial availability of its Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions in Mexico. As part of the expansion, the Palo Alto 3D printer company has announced that digital manufacturing service provider Bojä3D has officially become its first Mexican customer.
