Sunnyday Technologies releases M3-CRETE open-source 3D concrete printer 3D Printer Hardware

Sunnyday Technologies is releasing M3-CRETE, a fully open-source concrete 3D printer built for field deployment and research validation. The project sits alongside CEMFORGE, Sunnyday Technologies’ AI-driven concrete formulation platform, which the firm positions as a mix-design engine for additive construction. Sunnyday Technologies publishes documentation, CAD files, and a draft bill of materials (BOM) to a public GitHub repository for customization and comment.

M3-CRETE uses a pallet-scale form factor designed around a standard U.S. pallet footprint (48 by 40 inches, about 1.22 m by 1.02 m). The hardware uses a scaled CoreXY gantry layout and a lightweight printhead weighing about 1.5 kg, with counterweighted material delivery to maintain print consistency in dusty construction environments. Sunnyday Technologies sets a target system cost of less than $5,000 and frames the platform as modular and mobile for on-site work.

The design roadmap scales build volume from roughly 1 m³ up to 4 m³ through modular, swappable architecture intended to simplify maintenance and speed repairs in austere locations using commonly available parts.

M3-CRETE is built to run formulations generated through CEMFORGE, which Sunnyday Technologies ties to AI-optimized cementitious composites and machine-learning models used for mix development. Sunnyday Technologies also offers consulting services spanning mix design, printability, printer selection, control systems, and process development.

For early 2026 field-test units, Sunnyday Technologies is working with universities in and near Wisconsin to provide in-person support, and it is directing interested groups to contact the team via its published email and phone number.
