Stratasys and Berlin-based innovation studio & venture builder, nFrontier, have entered a partnership aiming at jointly taking a leap into the future of impact-driven innovation in Additive Manufacturing. A creative powerhouse, the newly established nFrontier Emerging Technologies Center [EmTeCe], the core of the nFrontier Innovation Studio, established in 2020, aims at becoming one of Europe’s leading facilities of creatively applied Emerging Technologies in soft- and hardware. The EmTeCe will integrate the “Emerging Eight Technologies“ in one single facility: Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, Generative Design, Drones, and Quantum Computing.
The EmTeCe will serve as a dynamic lab environment with the nFrontier pioneer’s teams co-creating radically new technical solutions. Enabled by the expertise, high-tech equipment, and infrastructure provided by technology partners like Stratasys, the EmTeCe will showcase new ways of developing innovative products for its customers. Located in the heart of Berlin, the EmTeCe aims at becoming a key international institution for digital design and product development and a landmark of the German capital’s tech scene, to date dominated by software and platform businesses.
Stratasys will provide systems using three core 3D printing technologies to the EmTeCe – FDM, PolyJet, and P3 Programmable Photopolymerization. “We believe that our contribution to the EmTeCE will serve as a perfect launching pad to successfully introducing leading-edge product innovations. We share a common vision for the convergence of digital design and manufacturing, creating sustainable growth and better products”, explained Andreas Langfeld, President EMEA Stratasys.
Manufacturing on Demand
nFrontier is a ground-breaking, impact-driven innovation studio accelerating the development and launch of industrial products – making the process faster, more successful, more digital, and sustainable. Fuelled by emerging technologies, benefitting from unique market insights and pioneering teams, and, crucially, using a proprietary A to L operating model, nFrontier has ambitions to reshape today’s product creation patterns.
”We are very proud to welcome Stratasys as the first EmTeCe Founding Partner and are looking forward to exploring the potential of these manufacturing technologies within our innovation projects”, said Daniel Buening, nFrontier CEO. “This commitment also shows Stratasys’ visionary mindset shaping the future of impact-driven product innovation enabled by technology convergence“.
The three founders of nFrontier have demonstrated their capabilities to predict global market trends and create products for industrial customers around the world while managing BigRep, the Berlin-based manufacturer of the biggest (FDM) serial-built large-format 3D-printers. With Dr. Beyer as CEO of the business, Buening (CIO) driving innovation through powerful 3D-printed prototypes, and Adiyaman running corporate administration, they had built the start-up into a global brand and innovation leader in additive manufacturing.
