EnvisionTEC Previews New Material for 3D Printing Indirect Bonding Trays at IDS 3D Printing Processes

The new E-IDB material presented by EnvisionTEC at the IDS show, the largest dental show in the world, joins industry-leading dental library for production of dental and orthodontic models, castables, appliances and restorations. The company also announced expansion of the Vida 3D printer line for dental industry ewith high-speed cDLM model and a new partnership with 3Shape, whose 3Shape Trios scanner and Ortho Analyzer software work hand-in-hand with Vida for tray production.

Revenues Up 70% in FY2016 for ExOne, Net Losses Reduced Significantly 3D Printing Processes

Industrial binder jetting 3D printer manufacturer ExOne closed FY 2016 last December 31st with gross profit and gross margin for significantly improved compared to the prior year. Sales for the year totaled $14.2 million, up significantly from last year’s $8.3 million. FY 2016 was driven by higher volume, especially large, indirect machine sales, and improved efficiencies. As previously noted, 2015 included costs associated with the Company’s expanded global facilities integration as well as its European ERP system implementation.

Memphis Meats presents world’s first poultry meat from cellular agriculture Bioprinting

The San Francisco-based leading cellular agriculture company Memphis Meats presented the world’s first clean poultry, derived from cellular agriculture, including both chicken and duck. While a few companies, including Memphis Meats, have produced clean beef, poultry is an unprecedented milestone for the clean meat industry. While these particular products are not necessarily shaped through bioprinting technologies, the two fields are closely related as 3D bioprinters will be able to create more complex shapes with lab-grown meat products in the future.

Kasetsart University Uses 3DPrinterOS for the First 3D Printer Farm in Southeast Asia 3D Printing Processes

The Faculty of Architecture at Kasetsart University in Thailand set up the Digital Prototyping Laboratory (AKU: Digital Prototyping Laboratory, DPL) launching 3D Printer Farm using 3DPrinterOS to run its cloud 3D printing service. The purpose of the lab is to run the university’s education and research development programs, expecting that this will boost up technological potential and support research study design from all angles. The DPL is first and the largest 3D Printer Farm in Southeast Asia.
