Triton 3D Offers OEM Compatible Materials for Stratasys 3D Printers at Significantly Lower Costs AM Industry

Triton 3D, a supplier of OEM-compatible 3D printing materials, has just launched an online platform through which customers can purchase low-cost alternatives to various Stratasys 3D printing materials, such as Ultem PEI, Polycarbonate, and ABS. Triton 3D is also aiming to expand the range of Stratasys-compatible materials by offering value-added grades that can be used with existing Stratasys chip settings.

Thor3D Partners with PointShape Inspection Software Developer DreamT&S 3D Scanning Sevices

Russia’s leading 3D scanner manufacturer Thor3D is partnering with DreamT&S, the South Korean developer of the powerful inspection software PointShape Inspector. The two firms signed a collaboration agreement which indicates the companies’ commitment to each other and to working together to simplify and streamline the process of 3D scanning and inspection on industrial markets.

First Chinese built COMAC C919 commercial aircraft flies with non-critical 3D printed parts Aerospace

The first COMAC C919 aircraft commenced its maiden flight at Shanghai Pudong International Airport successfully on May 5th, 2017. According to Bright Laser Technologies (BLT) one of the metal 3D printer manufacturers that participated in the project, several 3D printed titanium parts were installed on COMAC’s C919 to reduce the aircraft’s weight and increase its safety. Twenty-eight cabin door parts and two fan inlet structural parts were also installed on the aircraft.

UCLA Bioengineers Use 3D Printing to Create Microfluidics for Medical Microchip Marketing and Content

The bioengineers in Dino Di Carlo’s lab at the University of California, Los Angeles, spend a lot of time wrapped in head-to-toe suits and looking a bit jaundiced. The engineers work in a clean room, where a steady flow of filtered air removes particulates. Blue or purple light would harden the photosensitive material with which they work, so they limit lighting in the room to butter-yellow.
