Two Star Wars-inspired lands are currently under construction at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort. The first detailed 3D model of Star Wars Land (now officially called Galaxy’s Edge) is on display this weekend at the 2017 D23 Expo. Both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.
Leading desktop, professional and industrial 3D printer manufacturer Shining 3D worked with an undisclosed car customization company to design and produce a fully 3D printed exhaust pipe using its EP-M250 metal 3D printers. The exhaust pipe has already been installed and used in an assembly trial on a Ford Mustang.
Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) has purchased a new professional grade, powder fed, metal additive manufacturing system. The RPM Innovations 222 Standard System is a professional-grade system with powder-fed laser metal deposition technology. Last month brought a host of interesting events to South Korea, and one of the most interesting was the 2017 Inside 3D Printing Korea Conference & Expo in Seoul.
