As a result, MolyWorks has recognized significant efficiency improvements in its production process, and opportunities to enhance the breadth of capabilities by delivering additively manufactured end-use parts to its customers. With these advantages, MolyWorks has grown its customer base, including the work the company is conducting alongside the United States Air Force to evaluate 3D printed flight-critical parts.
FreeFORM Technologies, an engineering and manufacturing company, is expanding its service offering with the addition of a Tritone Dominant Additive Manufacturing system, from Tritone Technologies, a global provider of metal and ceramic AM technology for industrial production.
Swiss 3D printing manufacturer, Sintratec, and Spanish machine tools and high-tech equipment distributor, Maquinser S.A., have entered a new partnership that sees Maquinser become the first supplier of Sintratec’s modular selective laser sintering (SLS) solutions in the Iberian Peninsula – expanding the company’s distribution and service network in the Mediterranean region.
Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing (KAM) has acquired a Velo3D Sapphire XC printer – expanding its additive manufacturing capabilities and joining the Velo3D Contract Manufacturer Network. The purchase is Keselowski’s first from Velo3D, and the purchase continues the company’s legacy of utilizing the most advanced manufacturing capabilities on the market to deliver finished, high-quality parts to its customers.
Materialise, a leading provider of additive manufacturing software and 3D printing services, has appointed Koen Berges as the company’s new chief financial officer – effective May 15, 2023. Berges will succeed the company’s long-time CFO, Johan Albrecht, who has decided to leave Materialise at the end of May ‘to pursue new opportunities’.
Dedem (more specifically – Selltek – Dedem’s recently-acquired 3D solutions company), an Italian vending machine company, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Tritone Technologies, a provider of metal and ceramic additive manufacturing technology for industrial production. Currently, Tritone is present in Europe, Japan, and North America.
Cognitive Design Systems (CDS), a French additive manufacturing software start-up, has partnered with Stratasys (SYSS) – becoming a Platinum Partner of the GrabCAD Software Partner Program. As part of this collaboration, Stratasys users will gain access to CDS’s cutting-edge software for additive manufacturing feasibility and cost analysis – known as Cognitive Additive.
PERI 3D Construction is taking 3D construction printing to new dimensions in Europe: the IT server hotel, which the KRAUS GROUP is realizing in Heidelberg, will be about 54 meters long, eleven meters wide and nine meters tall. With the COBOD BOD2 3D printer, PERI will print the vertical elements of the building and using i.tech 3D mortar, a 100% recyclable material from Heidelberg Materials. The special architecture gives insights into the free design that can be easily realized with the 3D printing process. Overall, we expect a pure printing time of only about 140 hours.
Scientists at Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have designed and built a fully-functional 3D printer out of LEGO that can print synthetic skin and other tissues. The LEGO bioprinter is more affordable than other similar systems on the market and is open for anyone to replicate.
