BCN3D, a Barcelona-based 3D printer manufacturer, has launched its latest professional printer, the BCN3D Epsilon. The printer, which the company will showcase next week at Formnext, promises to “bring industrial power to your workbench.”
Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Atlas 3D, Inc., a Plymouth, Indiana-based developer of software that works with direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) printers to automatically provide design engineers with the optimal print orientation and requisite support structures for additive parts in near real-time. Atlas 3D will join Siemens Digital Industries Software, where its solutions will expand additive manufacturing capabilities in the Xcelerator portfolio of software.
Israeli ceramic 3D printing company XJet is bringing its innovative NanoParticle Jetting Technology (NPJ) to yet another customer: KU Leuven University in Belgium. The installation of the Carmel 1400 3D printer at the university marks the first time XJet’s technology has been adopted by a European academic institution. Fittingly, KU Leuven is one of Europe’s pioneering academic players in ceramics and AM.
Spanish bioprinter manufacturer Regemat3D has entered into an R&D and distribution partnership with Biogelx, a Scotland-based developer of synthetic bioinks. Through the collaboration, Regemat will add Biogelx’s synthetic bioink products to its distribution portfolio and the companies will aim to offer complete bioprinting solutions to researchers across the world.
PostProcess Technologies a Buffalo, NY, based provider of automated post-printing solutions for industrial 3D printing, is expanding its European Channel Partner network with the addition of two distributors. CYLAOS, a French-based engineering company specialized in 3D printing industrial deployment, will cover the French market. In the Nordics region, KMC will serve PostProcess’ customer base as a specialist in surface treatment solutions.
Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is offering the next generation of Low Free (LF) isocyanate urethane prepolymers that can be formulated into resins for 3D printing/additive manufacturing. In order to create such resins, LANXESS works together with 3D printing companies. Based on Adiprene LF pPDI (para-phenylene diisocyanate) prepolymers, these high-performance resins are easy to process and safe for industrial manufacturers as well as for the casual home, office or retail user.
Formlabs has today made a series of announcements, including the acquisition of its primary materials supplier, Spectra Group Photopolymers LLC, and the establishment of a new business wholly dedicated to the growing dental market: Formlabs Dental.

Through the collaboration, AMFG’s MES software for 3D printing will be integrated with EOS machines to enable direct streaming and improved machine control.
After some speculation about the future of Lulzbot 3D printer manufacturer Aleph Objects, the Colorado-based company has announced it has been acquired by Fargo Additive Manufacturing Equipment 3D (FAME 3D). The acquiring company, based in Fargo, North Dakota, will continue to manufacture and sell Lulzbot 3D printers.
