Industrial CT analysis software company Volume Graphics recently signed a multi-year Official Supplier agreement with Renault F1 Team in order to advance the use of its non-destructive testing tools to inspect 3D printed automotive racing components. Renault F1 Team will use the company’s VGSTUDIO MAX solution to test parts for its Formula One single seater with more efficiency and reliability.
Gardner Aerospace, a global manufacturer of aerospace components, has acquired FDM Digital Solutions, a UK-based 3D printing company. As part of the acquisition, FDM Digital Solutions will become integrated within the new Gardner Technology Center.

The project, which leveraged Altair’s design expertise with MX3D’s large-scale metal 3D printing capability, demonstrates how generative design can optimize and customize robotic arms for increased productivity. The project also showcases how MX3D’s metal AM technology can efficiently produce large-scale metal parts with complex geometries.

Last week, surface finishing expert Rösler consolidated its additive manufacturing activities under its new AM Solutions brand name. In the wake of that announcement, AM Solutions has announced a cooperation agreement with HP focused on the development of automated post-processing equipment for 3D printed parts. The companies will leverage their respective technological expertise to offer a scalable 3D printing post-processing workflow for industrial applications. As part of the cooperation agreement, AM Solutions has also acquired HP’s new Jet Fusion 5200 series 3D printing solution for its 3D printing service division.
