Located in the Jiangsu region, the town of Suzhou is a former mining town that has been completely rebuilt, attracting investments from some of the largest construction companies in the world. Old mines have been rapidly transformed into beautiful parks bringing the city to its former glory when it gave birth to several Chinese emperors. As the city moves into the future, one particularly innovative project stands out, conducted by construction 3D printing company Winsun: the very first 3D printed river revetment wall, over 500 meters long, is the largest 3D printed structure ever built.

Formula 1 launches 3D printed F1 Fragrance collection with designer Ross Lovegrove Consumer Products

F1 – yes the same Formula 1 circuit where state of the art vehicles race at 300+ Km/h – is launching an official new F1 Fragrance brand using 3D printed bottles. Inspired by Formula 1, arguably the pinnacle of motorsports, the collection was created by Designer Parfums and designed by Ross Lovegrove to convey the excitement, passion, technology and dynamism of Formula 1. The products will go on sale next year.

Renault F1 Team and Volume Graphics sign multi-year supplier agreement AM Industry

Industrial CT analysis software company Volume Graphics recently signed a multi-year Official Supplier agreement with Renault F1 Team in order to advance the use of its non-destructive testing tools to inspect 3D printed automotive racing components. Renault F1 Team will use the company’s VGSTUDIO MAX solution to test parts for its Formula One single seater with more efficiency and reliability.

Smart International to support e-NABLE Medellin in 3D printing prosthetics Medical

Smart International, under license from Eastman Kodak Company, has announced it will be supporting e-NABLE Medellin’s effort in Colombia by providing 3D printing hardware, materials and technical support. e-NABLE Medellin, a Colombian branch of the global e-NABLE organization which aims to provide free prosthetic hands to those in need, will use Smart International’s KODAK Portrait 3D printer to reach its goal of donating up to 35 prosthetics and assistive devices before the end of the year.
