Italian 3D printing service bureau BEAMIT has signed an agreement with Colorado-based AM materials company Elementum 3D with the aim of mutually promoting their respective offerings and creating a fruitful market for specialty 3D printing materials in Europe.
Etihad Engineering, the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) division of the Etihad Aviation Group (the parent company of Etihad Airways), has opened a new additive manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi. The lab will be used to make 3D printed aircraft parts and will leverage technology from manufacturing giant EOS.
Modix, a large-format 3D printer specialist based in Tel Aviv, Israel, has launched its latest printer, the Modix MAMA. The “Modular Additive Manufacturing Assembler” has a variable print volume of between 1 x 1 x 1 meters and 2 x 5 x 1 meters, and will be presented next week at Formnext alongside other large-format machines.
CEAD, a Netherlands-based provider of large-scale, composite 3D printing, and Siemens are expanding on an existing collaboration and will be jointly presenting their latest development, the AM Flexbot, at Formnext next week. The new system is a modular, hybrid technology for precision, large-scale parts.
Admatec, a Netherlands-based ceramic AM company, has today drawn the curtain on its latest product: the Admaflex 300, a flexible, open system for high volume ceramic and metal 3D printed components. The 3D printer, designed for production, offers an increased build volume as well as integrated in-process quality monitoring and an automated feedstock system.

GKN Additive has announced it will begin distributing gas- and water-atomized metal powders for the European additive manufacturing market. As part of the distribution, GKN Additive will be locally producing and warehousing its metal AM powders to reduce delivery and lead times for customers.
A team of influential players in the AM industry are coming together to develop a new high-strength and lightweight aluminum alloy for the aerospace and automotive industries. Materials expert Oerlikon will be working alongside industrial gases company Linde and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) to pioneer the new 3D printing metal, supported by €1.7 million in funding (50% of which is from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs).
BCN3D, a Barcelona-based 3D printer manufacturer, has launched its latest professional printer, the BCN3D Epsilon. The printer, which the company will showcase next week at Formnext, promises to “bring industrial power to your workbench.”
