First 3D printed office building opens in Dubai Professional Additive Manufacturing

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the first 3D printed office. The building is the first of its kind in the world prepared for actual use, taking into account the integration of unique building design and 3D-printing technology to offer key services within the building, such as electricity, water, telecommunications, and air-conditioning.

APWorks launches first-ever 3D printed motorcycle: the Light Rider Aerospace

APWorks, a 100% subsidiary of Airbus Group, has worked at the forefront of additive layer manufacturing (ALM) and advanced materials since its launch in 2013. The company produces bionically optimized metal parts for a wide range of industries, from aerospace to automotive and robotics. Its newest creation? The world’s first 3D-printed motorcycle, Light Rider, made using APWorks’ Scalmalloy material and weighing in at a svelte 35 kg.

HP 3D Printing answers questions from leading Industry experts and analysts 3D Printer Hardware

Throughout the visit at their Barcelona Labs, gave us an opportunity to see how well HP 3D printing answers a serious grilling by leading industry journalists such as Develop3D’s Martyn Day, Get3DSmart’s John Hauer, as well as Industry Analysts such as Terry Wohlers, Pete Basiliere and Joe Kempton. Professor Phil Dickens from the University of Nottingham also contributed (you can read Professor Dickens’ own review here).
