Few people know more about 3D printing than Greg Morris. The entrepreneur bought his first stereolithography machine back in 1994, when 3D printers were still largely confined to university labs and research centers. That machine allowed Morris to print polymer parts layer by layer directly from a drawing inside a computer.

Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, a global leader in the production of technically advanced specialty materials and components, have began a joint venture (JV) with GE Aviation for the development of a new meltless titanium alloy powder manufacturing technology. The JV will construct a new R&D pilot production facility. The titanium alloy powders are being developed for use in additive manufacturing applications, including 3D printing.
Massivit 3D Printing Technologies today announced that its business has grown by almost 350% since the launch of its Massivit 1800 3D Printer at drupa 2016. The exponential success has seen the company secure over 30 customers from 15 countries on five continents. Since the launch of the flagship Massivit 1800, the company has also grown its worldwide distributor network, now 25-strong, to provide full customer service support and training.
London-based 3D printing software specialists RP Platform were among 14 businesses chosen as the 2017 winners of Impact Growth — a programme that rewards the most promising growing businesses worldwide. Each year, a select group of winners are awarded funding, mentoring and business support to help accelerate their business growth and develop their winning ideas. Following a rigorous selection process, RP Platform was chosen as one of the 2017 winners, out of more than 1,900 applications from 60 countries.

Walks in a space suit, meals made of insects and space storms – this will be the reality of 6 people who will reside in the base to simulate Moon or Mars mission, this summer. The base is in Rzepiennik Biskupi, which houses the largest private observatory in Poland. Nano Dimension, the leader in the field of 3D printed electronics is targeting early access commercial sales of its Dragonfly 2020 electronics 3D printer. The decision comes after the company successfully completed recruiting new applicants to the company’s beta program. The goal of the beta program, which began in the second half of 2016, was to allow Nano Dimension initial penetration into the market by working with leading customers. The feedback received in the beta program has been used to upgrade and refine the technology, printing capabilities, and the work processes of the company’s DragonFly 2020 3D printer. Following the positive feedback that the company received from its customers, the company decided that the targets of its beta program were achieved, allowing Nano Dimension to move on to the next stage.
