With the DragonFly 2020 Pro, many of the complexities and bottlenecks inherent in printed circuit board (PCB) prototyping are removed, enabling companies involved in developing electronics to take control of their development cycles and realize the benefits of fast, secure and cost-effective agile electronics development. Designers and engineers can now innovate rapidly from proof of concept, through design validation to test fixtures, by 3D printing their own multilayer PCBs.

It is the first smart factory for Industry 4.0 solutions that was designed for digitally connected production processes throughout. Investments for the facility, which covers more than 50,000 square feet, totaled 13 million euros in construction investment and 13 million euros in equipment investment.

In 2014, it established the PTE 3D Project, as a result of a regional strategic policy proposed by the University’s Rector. Headed by Dr. Miklós Nyitrai, the PTE 3D Project launched the first International 3D Conference in 2015. The success of the first two editions has led to the Third International Interdisciplinary 3D Conference, which will be held on October 5th and 6th, at the University’s Szentágothai János Research Center.

Two years ago, Monash University researchers and their partners were the first in the world to print a jet engine, based on existing engine design.
