The new software adds full part Thermal Strain predictions (which is a unique feature) to Assumed Uniform and Scan Pattern strain, enabling engineers to leverage detailed additive manufacturing (AM) science to accurately predict part dimensions, to automatically correct for distortion and optimize supports. The software also enables users to visualize the effects of part orientation, process parameters and machine differences on AM-produced parts.
CRP Technology has established a dealer agreement with LSS Laser-Sinter-Service GmbH. Through the agreement, LSS will sell the composite SLS materials Windform XT 2.0 and Windform SP throughout the German and Austrian markets. If the biggest limit to a real, widespread adoption of additive manufacturing is industry awareness, trade shows are one of the most effective ways to address it. AM-centric trade shows also need to be able to reach out to companies looking to AM as a solution to real manufacturing challenges, not just a way for AM system and materials manufacturers to confront each other.
