3DSIM, a company leading in the development of functional and efficient simulation software focused on predicting the AM process, launched exaSIMTM ULTIMATE, completing the exaSIM process simulation portfolio. The new software adds full part Thermal Strain predictions (which is a unique feature) to Assumed Uniform and Scan Pattern strain, enabling engineers to leverage detailed additive manufacturing (AM) science to accurately predict part dimensions, to automatically correct for distortion and optimize supports. The software also enables users to visualize the effects of part orientation, process parameters and machine differences on AM-produced parts.

LSS Laser-Sinter-Service to distribute Windform materials in Germany AM Industry

CRP Technology has established a dealer agreement with LSS Laser-Sinter-Service GmbH. Through the agreement, LSS will sell the composite SLS materials Windform XT 2.0 and Windform SP throughout the German and Austrian markets. Windform® XT 2.0 and Windform® SP are the polyamide-based carbon fiber reinforced materials from the Windform family of High-Performance 3D printing materials, created and developed by the R&D department of CRP Technology.

Luxexcel receives €4M equity investment to accelerate AR/VR eyewear program Money & Funding

After closing an 8.5M EUR (10M USD) investment for its core activities in the ophthalmic industry (including participation from SET Ventures, Munich Venture Partners, PMV and KLA-Tencor), Luxexcel has begun installing the first industrial-grade 3D printing platforms in the USA and Europe. An additional 4M EUR (4.7M USD) investment will be used for the rapid expansion of the Luxexcel platform-functionality through dedicated (co-)development programs and partnerships in the domain of Augmented & Virtual Reality also known as AR/VR. AR/VR Eyewear applications include smart glasses that provide the user with real-time information for professional and personal use, gaming applications including control consoles for drones (fpv), sensors and cameras integrated into eyewear.
