America Makes and UTEP strengthen partnership AM Industry

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) announced the expansion of an existing agreement with America Makes to increase its role in the collection of performance data for the 3D printing industry. UTEP, which became the first America Makes Satellite Center in 2015, says the updated partnership will not only benefit the AM industry but will offer greater advantages to its students.

3D printed sculpture by Jam Sutton brings a pop of colour to Dublin Castle Professional Additive Manufacturing

Visitors to Dublin Castle in Ireland might be drawn in by a bubble gum pink sculpture standing outside of the government complex, contrasting with its grey stone and brick façade. The piece is a modern take on the classical David and Goliath motif by English artist Jam Sutton which shows a young man (David) clad in streetwear sitting atop the severed head of Goliath.

Evolve Additive to utilize Kodak imaging expertise to advance STEP technology 3D Printing Processes

The worlds of 2D printing and 3D printing are really being brought together through a new partnership between Eastman Kodak and Evolve Additive Solutions Inc. Through the collaboration, Kodak will supply Evolve Additive with imaging systems, parts and consumables based on its KODAK NEXPRESS digital electrophotographic platform. In doing so, the companies will work together to accelerate the development and commercialization of Evolve Additive’s Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process (STEP).

Nanoe to unveil Zetaprint desktop 3D printer for metal and ceramics at Formnext 3D Printing Events

Ceramics expert Nanoe has announced it will be launching its Zetaprint system at Formnext 2018. Zetaprint, which is billed as the first metal and ceramic desktop 3D printing system, consists of an adapted FDM technology compatible with metal and ceramic filaments, along with a debinding vessel and sintering furnace. The whole system will reportedly cost 10,000 euros.
