At the Formnext 2018 show in Frankfurt, DMG MORI is announcing that it is boosting its already far-reaching global presence in metal additive manufacturing (AM) by taking a 30% stake in the Indian company, INTECH, a developer of software for AM, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
If you’re at Formnext this week, then you may have already caught a glimpse of the world’s first 3D printed chassis. The automobile chassis, developed by Divergent3D, is on display at the Frankfurt event at the SLM Solutions booth. SLM Solutions has been a close partner of Divergent3D in the development of its next-generation vehicles.
Germany-based LSS Laser-Sinter-Service GmbH has introduced its new RAPTOR series 3D printer at Formnext 2018. The new machine series aims to drive industrial adoption for laser-based powder bed fusion technology for polymers.
With a company as large and as influential as GE Additive, you can bet it doesn’t have one single announcement during Formnext. For instance, the company already announced its subsidiary AP&C would begin production of aluminum alloy F357 powder in Q1 2019. In a separate piece of news, the company has also announced that the first Concept Laser M LINE FACTORY systems are expected to be delivered in Q2 2019.
UK-based FDM Digital Solutions and Italian 3D printing company Roboze are now working together thanks to the Xtreme3DParts project, with the vision of transforming traditional manufacturing in the aerospace, F1, automotive and industrial sectors, through high performance 3D printing technologies and materials.
