ExOne, a pioneer of binder jet 3D printing technologies, is introducing the tenth member of its metal 3D printer family: the X1 160PRO. As part of its launch, the new company, which develops microwave plasma technology for the production of materials for AM, lithium ion batteries and more, has introduced metal additive manufacturing powders made from sustainable sources. The powders are produced using 6K’s unique UniMelt technology which is capable of transforming certified chemistry machined millings, turnings and other recycled feedstock sources into premium powder for AM.
Alfa Romeo Racing, a Formula One team operated by Sauber Motorsport AG, is furthering its investment in additive manufacturing. The racing team, which already has four operational MetalFAB1 3D printers from Additive Industries, has purchased and installed a Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) system from Swedish company Quintus Technologies.

Spain-based sustainable infrastructure company ACCIONA has opened a new global 3D printing center in Dubai, which houses the world’s largest operational 3D printer based on powder bed technology. The new center will be used to 3D print infrastructure elements to meet the growing demand for construction 3D printing in the region (in line with Dubai’s 3D Printing Strategy).
