Layer by layer, the new STRABAG BMTI (STRABAG Baumaschinentechnik International) warehouse in Stuttgart’s Weilimdorf district is growing upwards. Together with Putzmeister and its KARLOS mobile concrete printer, ZÜBLIN has developed an innovative construction method that is unique in the world. As part of their long-standing collaboration, the two companies are pooling their innovative strength to take 3D concrete printing to a new level. Their research aims to offer customers an even more flexible and sustainable printing process in the future.

Pzartech, a startup specializing in on-demand distributed manufacturing through 3D technologies, is joining Hangar Labs by BEDEK. The innovation commercial aviation program of Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. is thus welcoming the first startup to collaborate on visual recognition of mechanical parts. The aim is to eventually ease the work of maintenance technicians thus reducing downtime.

DfAM meets DFMA at upcoming International Forum in Rhode Island AM Software

DFMA is an existing concept for software used in Design for Manufacture and Assembly. As AM seeks to eliminate a lot of the “assembly” from manufacturing, the thirty-third annual International Forum on Design for Manufacture and Assembly, organized by Boothroyd Dewhurst, will also focus on how AM – and specifically Design for Additive Manufacturing – will affect the future of DFMA. DfAM is a design approach that focuses on using complex, optimized geometries to reduce the need for subassemblies and thus improving a part’s quality.
