Maryland-based on-demand manufacturing platform Xometry has launched a Shop Advantage Program to provide easy access to on-demand services for its manufacturing partners in CNC machining, plastic/metal 3D printing, injection molding, sheet metals, and urethane casting.
The program provides offers on computer hardware, tooling, raw materials, certification, and business services, including equipment financing. It is aimed at reducing costs and time to keep the partners competitive and flourishing in the market.
Bill Cronin, Xometry’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing said, “we’re focused on helping our manufacturing partners grow their businesses, streamline processes, and improve their cash flow.”
To fulfill its orders, Xometry uses advanced 3D printing technologies, such as Stratasys Fortus FDM, EOS Polymer Laser Sintering systems, and EOS Direct Metal Laser Sintering systems.
On-demand manufacturing services
In recent times, Xometry has grown to be one of the leading companies to provide on-demand manufacturing services. Last year, in a funding round led by BMW i Ventures and GE, Xometry secured $15 million in funding.
Earlier this year it added SLA printing to its services and acquired Kentucky-based on-demand manufacturing platform MakeTime. In August, the company added 3D visualization kit HOOPS communicator to its instant quotation engine which enables the user to see detailed and precise 3D models for manufacturing feedback.
Xometry’s manufacturing partner network
Xometry Manufacturing Partners encompasses 2,400 small to mid-size manufacturers across the United States, such as Zero Hour Parts, a precision CNC machining company and PT&R, Inc., a California-based precision metal and plastic parts supplier. Both companies reached $1 million revenue milestone working with Xometry.
The Shop Advantage Program is supported by Xometry’s industrial partners. The partners include:
– Multinational computer technology company Dell.
– Sandvik Coromant, a Swedish cutting tools, and tooling solution supplier.
– Geared for Green, a sustainability company specializing in plastics, which also promotes 3D printing as a sustainable and environment-friendly manufacturing alternative.
– OnlineMetals, an online merchant of 3D printing filaments and customized metals and plastics.
– Manufacturers Capital, a provider of financial services to manufacturing and machine shops.
– Transportation Impact, a shipping rate negotiation company.
Helping SMEs stay competitive
Regarding the partnership, Dell’s head of Acquisitions and Strategic Partnerships, North America Small Business, Mobolaji Sokunbi said, “We’re delighted to partner with Xometry to provide fast, easy access to deals on Dell products that will help small American manufacturers stay competitive.”
Sandvik Coromant’s Director of Digital Machining Jeff Rizzie said, “we’re excited to partner with Xometry to bring Sandvik cutting tools to a broad segment of the job shop market.” The company will also offer tooling certificates to ensure that “Xometry manufacturing partners can buy the right tool at the right time for every job.”
