Ni Hao! Shanghai is now the location of the Chinese headquarters of worldwide engineering technologies company, Renishaw. The company has announced that its new HQ is a state-of-the-art facility in Shanghai located in the Zhabei District.The new office for Renishaw (Shanghai) Trading Company Ltd is located in the Shibei High Tech Park, an area developing quickly and well connected with Shanghai’s public transport.
A new demonstration facility at the HQ offers deep technical support to OEM customers, distributors and end-users for the full range of Renishaw’smetrology products,Raman spectroscopy systems and additive manufacturingmetal 3D printingsystems.The new headquarters building has also provided the opportunity for Renishaw to expand its warehouse and logistics facilities, and to increase the size of the company’s Service Centre, all focused upon improved customer service.
Paul Gallagher, the Managing Director of Renishaw Shanghai said: “Renishaw has been strongly committed to the Chinese market ever since we opened our first office in Beijing in 1994, which was followed by a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai in 2005. Our investment in this fast-growing country has been further strengthened by the expansion into this new facility. We look forward to many more years of strategic growth, and to continuing to build a strong business in Mainland China.”
The new headquarters building covers more than 3,200 square metres, of which an initial phase of 1,860 square metres has been developed. Phase two is due be complete in early 2015. Renishaw currently has 11 offices across China with a total of 125 employees. As industrial 3D printing increases in popularity in China, Renishaw looks to be aiming to be at the fore of a growth market.
