PrintForm, a service bureau offering custom manufactured plastic and metal parts on demand has received an undisclosed strategic investment from InspireX Ventures. The 3D printing bureau, based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers both advanced manufacturing and consultancy services.
The significance of investment
The strategic investment, through which InspireX will acquire capital in PrintForm, will aim to benefit both partners’ “core capabilities” and and the “B2B services” that they offer. According to the venture capital firm’s website, PrintForm is its only current investment.
Brian Ford, CEO and co-founder of PrintForm stated that the “investment from InspireX Ventures will allow us to take another major step forward with developing our people, processes, and technologies.”
Ford also implied that the investment would be channelled into sales, marketing efforts, and “further developing technology to make it as easy as possible for [customers] to order prototypes and custom parts.”
A combined service
PrintForm’s on demand printing is interesting for a number of reasons. The service bureau offers a spectrum of both plastic and metal 3D printing services, including SLS, SLA, FDM, DMLS, CJP, and Polyjet technologies.
Similarly, PrintForm also 3D prints parts on demand for a wide range of industries, including the automotive, aerospace, medical, industrial, and consumer markets. It supplies both prototypes and custom permanent parts to these industries
Finally, the service bureau combines traditional and advanced manufacturing processes that use traditional manufacturing methods to produce custom parts.
The latest in a series of partnerships
PrintForm previously partnered with Indian 3D printed tooling provider Wipro3D, to deliver parts for the aerospace, medical and industrial tooling industries. The partnership was especially well served by PrintForm’s localized Innovation Center in Mumbai, India.
