Multinational IT company HP (NYSE:HPQ), headquartered in California’s Silicon Valley, has announced four new launches focused on scaling the adoption of Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology around the globe. The releases feed into the company’s strategy to unlock the market, including the introduction of a Global Reseller Program and expansion of its Open Materials Ecosystem.
Global Reseller Program
This announcement marks the formal unveiling of HP’s Global Reseller Program that sees the company partnering with companies across North America and Europe. A total of 13 North American companies have been revealed so far, adding to 19 in Europe, and a further 3 classed as distributors.
Multi Jet Fusion on demand
In addition to resellers, HP have announced partnerships with a number of 3D printing service bureaus and design firms to provide Multi Jet Fusion capabilities to a broad customer base.
The companies that will be providing HP 3D printing solutions include Minnesota’s Proto Labs, Shapeways and Materialise.
Centers for reference and experience
To give hands-on experience, training and support to prospective customers HP are rolling out a series of Reference and Experience Centers. The initial centers will be based in 15 locations:
Allentown, PA; Atlanta, GA; Carlsbad, CA; Corvallis, OR; Livonia, MI; Louisville, KY; Manchester, CT; Milpitas, CA; Palo Alto, CA; San Diego, CA; and Vancouver, WA in the United States; and Raon-l’Etape, France; Leonberg, Germany; Eindoven, The Netherlands; Barcelona, Spain; and Birmingham: UK.
New Open Materials partnership
Finally, HP have announced that chemical and consumer goods company Henkel (ETR:HEN3) have joined the materials development Open Platform, alongside other materials developers such as Arkema, BASF, Evonik, and Lehmann & Voss.
With the specially developed Material Development Kit, Henekel will work with HP to open up the materials available for the Multi Jet Fusion method of 3D printing. The work will be performed at HP’s state-of-art Open Materials and Applications Lab in Corvallis, Oregon, previously visited by Industry EIC Michael Petch on the kit’s release.
