Hawk 3D Proto, a division of Cutwel Limited, has just announced that it has signed an agreement with California-based Airwolf 3D to serve as a distributor of its complete line of 3D printers and accessories in the UK, making the company the first — and only company — in the United Kingdom, which at time of writing still includes Scotland, to sell and support the Airwolf brand of 3D printers for engineers, schools and corporations.
This deal sees Hawk 3D Proto expand the 3D printer range it offers, just a couple of months ago the company signed a similar deal with BEEVERYCREATIVE, the Portuguese manufacturers of the BEETHEFIRST brand of 3D printers for distribution in the UK.
Airwolf 3D’s president, Mark Mathews, is confident of Hawk 3D Proto’s success in the UK, commenting: “Our partnership with Hawk 3D Proto will be mutually beneficial. This agreement demonstrates our commitment to a broadened revenue model, and reflects our stated focus to expand our distribution channels throughout the European Union. We are confident that Hawk 3D Proto will rapidly gain market share for us in the UK.”
Ben Hawksworth, who heads up the Yorkshire-based company and lends his name to it, is equally confident, telling 3DPI: “We chose to start the distribution agreement with Airwolf 3D for many reasons, one being their fantastic reputation with their customers in the USA such as NASA, BOEING, HP and many more big names. At Hawk 3D Proto, we believe that with these products we can target engineers, educational establishments, designers and makers to assist them in getting the prototypes that they need to make by having one of the Airwolf 3D technologies. For example with the HD2X, it is a dual head, multi material, large build envelope 3D printer. A great 3D Printer, at a great price.”
This does not appear to be an overstatement, particularly considering that Airwolf3D has just been named as a finalist for the Orange County Technology Alliance annual High-Tech Innovation Awards in the category Enterprise Hardware and Devices.
Hawk 3D Proto will be demonstrating the full range of 3D printers that it supplies at the TCT show in Birmingham, UK at the end of the month. The machines will be running during all three days of the show and visitors are invited to come and see the platforms up close, for themselves. A week later, on the 9th October, Airwolf will find out if it has been successful in winning the High Tech Innovation award at a gala dinner at the Westin South Coast Plaza in California, where it is based.
