Polish 3D scanner manufacturer Evatronix SA has launched the eviXmatic inspection system. Debuting in North America at RAPID + TCT 2019 last week, the new hardware provides fully automated, non-contact measurements of parts. It also highlights the company’s strategy within the U.S. market.
“In terms of demand,” said Adam Morawiec, Vice President of Business Development at Evatronix SA, “North America is one of the most important markets for our 3D scanning and measurement tools.” Describing the new product, he added that it is “conceived for application in the areas of repetitive precise measuring and quality inspection tasks.”
The Evatronix network
Evatronix was founded almost three decades ago as an electronics system and circuit design/delivery service. In 2008, the company re-positioned its efforts to begin offering its own 3D scanners and related services such as reverse engineering, “scan to print,” rapid prototyping and training. The company is also a reseller of Leios 2, SpaceClaim, Geomagic Control X and Geomagic Design X.
Over the years, Evatronix has cultivated a wide-reaching network of resellers in over 40 countries across Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, most recently signing distribution agreements with Japanese 3D scanning provider OPT Technologies, and Symphony Innovation in Singapore.
eviXmatic technical specifications and pricing
eviXmatic is a patent-pending 3D scanning system which can be used as a standalone kit or as a dock for other devices in the Evatronix range. It consists of an automatic rotary table, situated beneath a 3D scanning unit which moves along a Y-axis rail. With this setup, the device is capable of completing automatic calibration and turning an object in capture its full dimensions. A rubbery finish to the rotary table means that parts can be held in place without additional fixings. It is suitable for measuring objects 250 × 650 × 250 mm, weighing between 10 kg and 30 kg, or even several small objects in a single run.
Enabling the automated scanning of parts in eviXmatic is a collection of predefined scanning scenarios and templates. Integrated with 3D Systems Geomagic Control X software, scan data from the system can be used to automatically generate quality inspection reports for components.
As a standard, eviXmatic is available with two 3D scanner models, the HD Quadro and HD Optima. The more advanced of the two, the HD Quadro has both wide and fine measuring ranges, between 370 × 265 × 150 mm and 210 × 145 × 90 mm respectively, delivering a point density of 50 pt/mm² or 161 pt/mm². Operating an RGB light source, it has 4 x 5 Mpix cameras, and is capable of producing an accuracy of up to 0.0130 mm. The HD Optima, on the otherhand, uses a Blue LED lightsource, and have 2 x 5 Mpix cameras. Its measuring range is 250 × 170 × 120 mm (116 pt/mm² point density) with an accuracy up to 0.0183 mm. Pricing for the eviXmatic system is available on request. Evatronix also provides free demos of the system.
